Is there a way to automatically populate the source code in donation creator via URL parameter?

We would like to send links to potential donors but we want to have the donations linked to specific campaigns. Currently, the user has to search for the source code in the donation creator but has anyone had any luck auto--populating it based off of URL parameter? We have tried modifying the control directly but it seems to get reset when the user picks a different amount.
