Update GroupMember errors out with "A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (:)"

While trying to update DropDate on CHAPTER group I'm getting following error due to ":" character in the URL: https://{iMISServer}/api/GroupMember/CHAPT/MB:31016

Is there workaround?
