Tax Calculations leaving fractionals

DUPE found at: https://support.imis.com/hc/en-us/requests/302410?page=1 (posting here based on feedback from Ross Austen)

We’ve recently redeveloped our tax solution to align with the release of your tax overrides in the cart, eliminating the need to insert a pseudo tax product as a workaround. This update has streamlined our process significantly, and we appreciate the flexibility provided by the tax overrides feature.

However, we’ve encountered an issue with the cart’s tax calculations when applying overrides on a line-item basis. Specifically:
The cart appears to use the tax authority rate for shipping and handling calculations, leading to fractional cents in the tax math.
When we run price updates via the API, these fractional values are returned and cause issues at payment time. PayCentral flags these fractions as incorrect billing attempts, creating disruptions in the workflow.

Attached is a photo that illustrates this issue in detail. While we’ve implemented the solution in line with your documentation, we’re seeking your guidance on how best to address this.

Would you be able to review this and provide feedback on how we might resolve the fractional tax discrepancies? If helpful, we’re happy to share portions of our codebase for further analysis.

Looking forward to your insights, and please let me know if additional context or examples would be helpful.
