Easiest way to retrieve roles for username
I'm trying to retrieve roles for a given username. The User entity has a roles field, but this is always null regardless of whether the user has been assigned any roles. I know that I could get a userkey for a username, then query UserRole to get a list of RoleKeys, then use rolekeys to get the names of the roles, but it seems like there should be a more straightforward way to get this information.
How to test a complex webform based iPart
How would you suggest to test a complex webform-based iPart ? We are working on one now and we were thinking about what is the best way to test our new iPart in Visual Studio.
And where's the documentation for the /token endpoint?
Honestly I'm ready to start touring senior citizen communities. Where's the documentation for how to request a token? I know all this but I'm just to point a developer to the documentation and I can't find it. Thanks.
New records don't populate the CommunicationPreferences
When I create a new record (REST) with just the basics (name, member type, etc.) the communication preferences aren't saved into the profile. I have to go to the staff site, to the preferences page and save the record to push them in. What's the trick to get them to populate in the initial POST?
Is the $type value still required?
There was some chatter about the $type value being optional in the later versions of the API, I assumed 20.3+. It still seems to be required in 20.3.34.2516, is that still the case? Or is it required in some of the endpoints and optional in others? Thanks.
Re-enable Business Objects
We had a page in desktop that was referencing business objects but that's not allowed after updating. We are moving it to the staff site but we are still getting errors on the Asi.Bae.Customer.User object. How do we re-enable the business object?
Changing Masterpage and Theme via Code
I would like to be able to change the Masterpage and Theme via code. It needs to be done in the OnPreInit stage in the code. I have tried using the Global.asax and can change the Masterpage in the Pre_Init, but I cannot access OnPreInit - which is where Microsoft recommends these updates be done (see link at bottom).
Is it possible to access/override OnPreInit? For example:
